When Aidan Cawley came to USF St. Petersburg, he never expected to be involved in so many campus activities. Or have the chance to become Rocky. But as time passed, the environmental science major became more outgoing and confident. Three years later, his e-mail signature looks like a resume.

USF confers more than 7,000 degrees during spring commencement ceremonies

USF awarded more than 7,000 degrees during spring commencement. The group featured 114 earning a perfect 4.0 GPA and 168 student veterans, and includes students from 46 states and 89 nations. More than 40 percent of undergraduates are recipients of Pell Grants, reflecting USF’s impact on social mobility.

Brain cancer survivor graduates with honors and lasting memories

As Cole Eicher prepares to graduate, he’s also celebrating another milestone: ten years of being cancer free. Eicher has not only recovered, he is a national advocate for children with cancer, launching an effort that today is the American Cancer Society’s official childhood cancer initiative.

At the age of two, Barbara Figueredo moved to the U.S. from Venezuela after her family left the country due to the political turmoil that continues today. Coming to America and learning English at a young age made her want to pursue an Education degree.

Despite war and concern for loved ones back home, graduating student excels academically to achieve goal

While striving for his bachelor’s degree, war broke out in Andrii Kostyrko's home country of Ukraine. For nearly a year and a half, Kostyrko lived with the uncertainty and fear created by the war. Despite these circumstances, he has excelled and will be graduating summa cum laude.
